MD2 Windows®-Based System
MD2 is a Windows-based system designed around an SQL data base.  What this means to the user is that the software is easy to use and fully compatible with industry standard report writing tools such as Crystal Reports.  Create your own reports the way you want them or use the many standard reports that are included.  MD2 is fully compatible with both Windows Server and Novell NetWare networks.

MD2 is the upgrade path many practices have been waiting for!

MD2
Windows®-Based
System

Billing

Multiple practices (or other separate legal entities) can share a single common database and yet keep totally segregated Accounts Receivable, options, and billing cycles. This can dramatically reduce hardware, software, and personnel costs.  The MD2 system is built on the industry-standard SQL database methodology to allow speedy creation of custom reports and ad hoc inquiries.

Accounts Receivable is completely open item, allowing for quick and easy searches, inquiries, and answers to common patient billing questions. A/R by Physician allows a detailed aging by physician, allowing income allocation to your providers based on individual net receipts rather than production.  When a physician is added to your practice, or when one leaves, you will know a real valuation for the existing A/R.

All processing occurs immediately on data entry. There is no overnight run, no batch postings, no delay in updating your database. All transactions are reflected in their appropriate places immediately.

Claims

Direct electronic submission of claims to carriers speeds your cash flow.  The system produces the 4010A (mandated by HIPAA) automatically, and other claim formats are supported. The electronic claim file is created as charges are entered. Most practices send this claim file once a day, but doing so more frequently is supported.  Unlike other systems on the market today, with MD2 there are no per-claim or monthly fees for claims. Many users find they can pay for the entire system on this savings alone. You can take advantage of free claims clearing for all companies provided by BCBS, where BCBS uses THIN. Why pay for claims processing when you can do it for free?

Third party billing, reimbursement and claims management; these are among MD2’s core competencies.  Reimbursement analysis and follow-up reports keep you on top of this vital area. Payments, adjustments, deductibles, co-pays, denials, submissions, and rebill history are all instantly detailed. Clear reasons for denials are on the claim and patient’s statement. Statements are set up to go to your laser printer, on plain paper stock, with your practice name and logo dropped on to make a very sharp, professional looking document. Electronic Statement Delivery to your patients’ email addresses is available as an option.

Medical Records

Have you implemented the Vista EMR package? Are you considering another EMR solution?  Take your pick, because we provide a seamless interface to the EMR package of your choice.  As a matter of fact, out system can even be seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Word. You are not restricted to our EMR package. This gives you maximum flexibility in this extremely important and up-and-coming application area.

Scheduling

Appointment Scheduling is fast and easy to use. User-defined templates allow you to specify practically any schedule any of your providers can come up with. Scheduling features an “appointment book” that looks quite a bit like a paper calendar, allowing your staff to adapt quickly to this very intuitive user interface.  When an appointment requires coordinating one or more physicians in the same (or different!) practices, a special room, equipment, or specialist, the system will automatically find concurrent open times.  All resources are booked on the same screen at the same time.

A lot of time, talent, and real-world experience went into the design of this heavily used application. Searches may be made by specialty, type, interval length, any available resource, etc. Patient and account information may be displayed and edited at any place and time.  And the patient’s name may be entered either before or after the desired day and time are selected, another of the unique and practical aspects of our design.

Credit warnings and any prior history of no-shows and cancellations display prior to booking, giving you the opportunity to confront problems on the phone instead of on your doorstep

Post-up

When patients are checked in at the front desk, their arrival is automatically announced at the nurses’ station. The screen shows which patients have arrived but are not yet ready to be seen (because they are completing registration forms, at the lab, etc.) and which ones are ready to be placed into an exam room.  The names of patients who have been waiting too long begin to flash on the screen after a user-defined wait time has been exceeded.

In addition to the standard screen announcement method, an option exists to allow the announcement of patient arrivals to be delivered via text message to the cell phone of a single nurse or pool of nurses.

Reporting

MD2 comes with a variety of standard reports to support claims, manage Accounts Receivable, analyze production and receipts by provider, and the other myriad functions running a modern practice entails.  No system can anticipate every possible report request by every potential user, and that is why MD2 is designed around the industry standard SQL database methodology.

You may use our canned reports, and/or use economical, off-the-shelf report writing tools  such as Crystal Reports to design your own ad hoc or recurring reports. Crystal, just one of the tools available for your use, is a highly intuitive, easy to use report writer with surprisingly deep functionality.  No formal training is needed to get started with simple reports, but classes are widely available at community colleges virtually everywhere for the advanced user.
